Megyn Kelly is leading her own Sirius XM channel in a new multi-year deal
Megyn Kelly led one show at a time on the schedule of Fox News, and by extension NBC. Soon, you’ll be leading the pack at SiriusXM.
The popular talk show host, who has created a new content empire under her production company Devil May Care Media, will lead her own SiriusXM channel starting November 4. Her “Megyn Kelly Channel” will air on Sirius 111, formerly home to “Triumph,” the channel on which Kelly has appeared alongside shows by Glenn Beck, Nancy Grace and Dr. Laura Schelsinger, among others. Some of these programs will move to Sirius channel 123.
The new channel will continue to air Kelly’s “The Megyn Kelly Show,” first heard on SiriusXM before becoming available in podcast form, and will also feature new programming, including the debut of an exclusive daily after-show. Additional series, shows and specials are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
“Linear TV news is dead. People can’t stand those slick, censored conversations anymore, which is exactly why the medium is thriving. I’m thrilled to bring our bold brand of non-BS news live on SiriusXM and to expand my relationship with such a stellar brand and great partner,” Kelly said, in a prepared statement. Megyn Kelly to enjoy and trust the conversations and content they love.”
Kelly is one of several opinion figures who have gained new traction in the audio and direct-to-consumer sphere in recent years following the death of Rush Limbaugh and the rise of conservative media outside the Fox News umbrella. Many of these personalities are former members of Fox News, and have gone on to find their own audiences. Bill O’Reilly has a subscription-based video feed. Glenn Beck is the co-founder of conservative content outlet Blaze Media. Tucker Carlson has gained attention through his special programs distributed across social and digital media. Their audiences may be smaller and more disparate than those that come to mainstream news outlets, but in the era of cord-cutting, their niche strength should not be ignored.
The situation seemed to suit Kelly. “I can never go back to having a boss,” Kelly said. “I don’t do well with bosses.” diverse in 2023, in a subtle reference to the disagreements she had with senior executives at Fox News and NBC News over the course of her career. “I’m better off being my own boss and running my own show.”
During her time as podcast host, Kelly interviewed President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shortly before his confirmation hearings. She also held conversations with Carlson, Piers Morgan, Bill Maher, Barry Weiss, Charlamagne Tha God, and Sean Ryan, among others.
In recent weeks, Kelly has released podcasts backed by other personalities. Among the shows on her podcast network MK Media are “The Nerve with Maureen Callahan,” “Next Up with Mark Halperin,” “Spot On with Link Lauren,” and “After Party with Emily Jashinsky.” It recently unveiled the “MK True Crime” initiative, which features legal analysis and live trial coverage with a range of expert contributors.
