The film is directed by Paweł Ziemilksi among the 10 projects participating in the MDAG progress section, and it is part of the International Millennium Festival against the ongoing attractiveness in Warsaw and six other Polish cities. The MDAG industry was launched four years ago to provide access to Polish documentaries to sales agents, producers, distributors and international festivals representatives. It has been steadily growing since then.
“2021 was just an event that we dealt with as a pilot,” says Anna Szzypińska, the head of industry, on the deadline. “Then every year, we started adding the promotion forums – the length of feature and 10 short documentaries – and the films for small fans. We started to invite Polish projects only, but also Eastern European projects.”
The documentary films forum for the young fans, which was created six years ago, before the start of the MDAG industry, aims to address a mystery in the DOC field – how to make young people interested in non -fictional cinema.
“We believe it is important to promote documentaries for children,” Szzypińska notes. “It is our future documentary and documentary films. It is a great teaching tool.”

Projects in the forum seem perfectly suitable to involve young viewers. among them:

The new in the MDAG industry this year is Xtended Pitch – it displays four XR, AR and VR projects “at different stages of production”. The chosen projects, which were prepared for display by experienced teachers, “the boundaries of the foggy type and explore new forms of storytelling.”
“The application was opened all over the world, so it was not necessary to be Eastern Europe projects,” Szzypiska comments. “Therefore, we have a project from Ireland, we have Polish projects. We have decided to add this part of the industry because we are seeing these immersive trends and formats in particular, they are new ways of telling stories. When we see this happens, we want to make sure that the Polish audience, the Polish industry and creators are also part of the conversation.”
Pole Position is a section that gives Polish documentaries a platform to shine in front of the international attendees at the festival.
