Minneapolis Mayoral Candidate Pledges Allegiance to Country (Just Not This Country) – Twitchy

Some have called Omar Fateh the “Minneapolis Madani,” and many of these people actually mean it as a compliment to the candidate even though it should scare voters.

After next Tuesday, that city in Minnesota will have a new mayor. Open it One of the four Candidates:

Minneapolis voters will decide on their next mayor on Tuesday, November 4.

Fateh, a 35-year-old who became a state senator by unseating his incumbent, has drawn attention for his comparisons to Zahran Mamdani, a democratic socialist who is on track to win the mayor’s office in New York City. They are both young, both are part of the insurgent left, both are Muslims, and both are state legislators. Their platforms align with a focus on affordability. Their campaigns benefit from grassroots organizers from the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). Their races use by-choice voting, allowing coalitions to form against the incumbent.

Instead of primaries, Minneapolis holds caucuses and a city convention. The Fatah movement was endorsed by the Minneapolis Democratic Labor and Farmers Party, but was then canceled by the state party after an electronic voting system failed to get all the votes in the contest, the Minneapolis Democratic Labor Association admitted, leaving the race without an approved candidate.

So how will the Fatah campaign try to be mayor of a major American city?
