After a stellar performance in the Giants’ 34-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, ESPN interview With Skattebo’s mother resurfacing since January, giving more insight into the full-back’s unique mentality.

“Cameron has always been able to figure out how to get through things or get past them,” Becky Scatipo said in the clip. “He would get out of any wagon seat you could find. That’s how he ended up being nicknamed ‘Houdini’ because if he didn’t want to be somewhere, he would get out of the situation he was in.”

She went on to say that Scatepo got involved in football at an early age because of his older brother, and revealed a strange habit the running back developed.

Skattebo is giving his best performance of the season. He rushed for 98 yards and three touchdowns in the Giants’ upset win Eagles. Fellow rookie Jackson Dart also had a rushing touchdown and another passing score in Thursday’s victory.

“I’m going to sleep with No. 3 tonight as a pillow,” Scatipo said as he held a ball after the game. “We played hard, and I support the players up front for all the efforts they gave to me and this team.”

The Giants improve to 2-4 and will move on to face off Denver Broncos Sunday.
