NCAA Gymnastics Championship: OU, LSU
After an exciting season, full of dynamic shows and amazing results often, the 2025 NCAA Gymnastics Championship has finally become on us and still only eight teams in competition in the final crown.
Compete at Fort Worth, Texas, in Deca Arena, Oklahoma, Florida, Missouri and Alabama, the event will start in the semi -finals on Thursday (4:30 pm EST time for ESPN2) while LSU, UTAH, Ucla and Michigan compete in the evening session (9 pm at ESPN2). The first two teams will advance in each semi -final to the final of the team on Saturday (4 pm Eastern time on ABC), and the individual winners will be appointed on Thursday after the second semi -finals.
According to ESPN and 2015 NCAA, Samantha Peszk, this will be the weekend.
“I think this is one of the most truly long fields, perhaps at all,” Peszk said on Friday. “I think all of these eight teams are very competitive and showed moments of greatness this year that can deal with any team in the country.”
To date, we have left countless questions about how to run competition. Can LSU successfully defend its title for apostasy? Will Oklahoma repeat the cup after a shocking discomfort in this event in 2024? Can Florida, Utah or the University of California in Los Angeles, or any other teams, can a surprise and seize glory? Who will require an individual honor per year in the comprehensive competition? Here is everything you need to know at the end of the last week of the college gymnastics season.
Defense heroes
This time a year ago, LSU was the second place in NCAA on four occasions, but it never got the first position on the platform.
But of course, everything changed last April. The Tigers team benefited from a great successful season and managed to get the first national championship, behind the winner of all Haley Bryant, and the Montaser Final alternating Shuaa, as the team won the highest group degree (49.7625) in the history of the event.
Al -Nasr inspired Bryant to return to the fifth year, and there may be no more team loaded with talent in its LSU list. This depth has been shown throughout the season. Under the leadership of Bryant, to me, Fenjan, Kunor MacLean, and the phenomenon student Kayyin Cyu, the team finished the normal season in the first place and on the cellar, and in the first five places in other events. LSU lost only twice this season – as she finished second behind Oklahoma in Sprotz Farmers Market College Cadres during the second week and to Arkansas on the road after two weeks – but it has not been defeated since January 24 and has not shown little weakness since then.
At the SEC Championship last month, which included Oklahoma for the first time, LSU won its highest degree ever in this event with 198.200, and won the conference for the sixth time. Earlier this month, the tigers won the regional state of Pennsylvania, and it was 198.050 the second highest in all regional competition. The team looks more than being able to run it.
In January, coach Jay Clark said this year’s goals will win the SEC and NCAA title, but he was practical in his approaches and expectations.
“We remember [our goals] Clark told Espn: “Early and after that, we are not talking about.” We realize small goals along the way much more than we focus on some of the end result that if this becomes all of you, you are more disappointed than others.
“Of course, we want to win again. Will it be this year? I don’t know. We just continue to work on.”
The task of redemption
No team has approached the “family” situation in the past decade of Oklahoma. Sooners arrived in Fort Worth last year as heroes who ruled twice, and it appears ready to achieve the three whatever.
Everyone knows what happened next. During the opening of the opening team on a cellar during the semi -finals, Oklahoma had three gymnastics players suffering from significant decline errors, and the team was firmly in fourth place heading to their second event. Despite the courageous effort that the rest of the meeting, Sooners was unable to close the deficit and handed their first director since 2012.
But that was then.
Since this horrific result, Sooners adopted their “weak” position (in order to be clear, these are their words and perhaps no one else) and find the motivation in what happened. I have worked.
Under the fifth year of the fifth year, the team was dominant throughout the season. Oklahoma did not win the title in the SEC Championship, instead in second place, and lost in a regular season match with LSU. But the team won everything else, and this is not exaggeration.
Sooners 198,450 scores won the Washington Regional Final, and the best result was in all regions. Bowers got three perfect 10.0 (on cellar, bars and floor) during that competition. Oklahoma entered the NCAA championship with the highest level of the season (197.908) in the country, and ranked first in most of this season.
As you know Sooners last year, anything possible in Fort Worth. But the main coach KJ Kindler told ESPN after the first team meeting, which I believed that the result of last year would not only help them this season.
“We have what happened, we are responsible for what happened. We have made a mistake. Oh my God, we are human. It is a difficult time to make a mistake but it happened. It ignored it will be ridiculous because the rest of the country does not ignore it, so we do not divide it, we use it to make us better.”
Other competitors
LSU and oklahoma are favorite candidates for the title, but there are definitely a few other teams that require what is necessary to raise the cup on Saturday.
After a strong season, victories on his elite teammate included eight Utah teams, Michigan Province, Missouri and Alabama, Florida won No. 3 with a small difference – by 0.025 from a point! – Regional final for the 22nd time in the history of the program. With Leanne Wong and Selena Harris-Miranda, the top five at the national level ever, Gators will look at “Four on the Fluor” on Saturday for the fifth year in a row and win their fourth title of NCAA and the first since 2015.
According to Espn analyst John Rothlisperger, who won the NCAA title for men, three times during his group career, they have what is necessary to do so. He said that Florida was in the “top layer” that enters the competition, along with LSU and Oklahoma, but added a warning.
“Florida may have the highest ceiling for any team in the NCAA Championship,” said Rothllyberger. “But they also had some fluctuations. They went to the bars in the SEC championship and put a record in NCAA, then went to Beam and they were, according to their standards – you might like many other teams throughout the country their rays – but for them it was a big step back and ended up to third place.”
Similar possibilities can be said in favor of Utah, the NCAA champion nine times, competing in his national championship 49 (!) Respectively. The Red Rocks was ranked fourth on Thursday and got out of an incredible season for the first time in The Big 12, after winning the normal season and championship title. Backed by 2020, Grace McClicom, who won the Olympic silver medal, a big hero and a big hero throughout the cellar, has not lost Uta since its fall in Florida on February 2. finally Be the year when you end the Red Rocks dehydration and win the first NCAA championship since 1995?
The University of California in Los Angeles, the former Pak 12 conference in Utah, was equally successful in its first year in the Big Ten. After a faded start of the season, Broenz ranked 6th with the conference competition, won the normal season and the conference championship became 10 out of ten records 198.450. This performance was an indication of the quality of the team when it was at its best. Chai Campbell won the comprehensive title, Jordan Chelse (floor), Brocklin Moor (floor) and Ciena Alipio (beam), all of which earned 10.0s during the competition. Competition in the Utah region, the University of California in Los Angeles ended ten points behind Utah in the first place in the regional final. The Bruins team will now look forward to the first Saturday championship since 2019 – then win the NCAA eighth and first since 2018.
And the number 5 is not calculated by Michigan, No. 7 Missouri and No. 8 Alabama. I have made all the three teams much for some reason. Roethlisberger said that Spartans will be the choice of a modern bet.
“If anyone will take a long snapshot in the country, if we can go to a sports book in Vegas for gymnastics, I think that many people want to put money on Michigan state,” said Rothllyberger. “You will get great possibilities and have this fire and this extravagance that many other teams have.”
It honors individualism
One of the most interesting aspects of the NCAA championship is the inclusion of individual qualifiers-the best comprehensive competitor and the top in each event that is not part of a competitor. Gymnastics players become almost temporary members in the teams, as they revolve during the semi -finals competition with their new team. Some prominent pairing this week includes Jade Carey from Oregon with LSU and Arkansas from Joscelyn Roberson with Utah. Oclahoma is called Madison Ulrich Denver, who will rotate with the Sooners team, and is “an additional teammate in the team” In the publication of social media.
These individuals have their eyes on some bright new devices. Carrie, the Olympic Medal, was three times, a historical season. In the first place in the country throughout Sham and Ali Shuaa, Carrie won the comprehensive title in each season this season, including during the fourth place in Oregon in the regional finals. Carrie, the NCAA center, will look four times, including last season, to conclude her group career decorated with the final individual title.

Also, Roberson, a substitute for the American Olympic team in Paris, has a prominent student season in Razorbacks and can have the impression of the NCAA championship for the first time.
“It was really fun watching Joscelyn only embracing the university gymnast,” said an ESPN analyst and the Six Olympic Olympic medal last week. It is also an enormous competition and [I’m] It is really excited to find out how to do in her first national championship. “
Although Carrey is the favorite of the comprehensive crown due to its results that lasted its season, Bryant from LSU can repeat, and her teammate can close her great beginner season. Oklahoma Powers and Torizs could have struggled, as well as in Florida, Wong and Harris Miranda, Utah McCalaum, Campbell or Chelse at the University of California, Los Angeles. One thing is certain: Thursday’s stars’s meetings will be an epic battle between some of the best and brightest sport.
