NWSL Decision Day: Racing Louisville clinches final playoff spot with current No. 1 KC seeds | NWSL


Ella Haas scored early in the second period, and Racing Louisville clinched the final spot in the NLCS playoffs by defeating visiting Bay FC 1-0 on the final day of the regular season on Sunday.

Racing Louisville, which earned its first playoff berth in franchise history, had a five-game unbeaten streak going into the postseason, though the previous two games had ended in ties. Louisville needed a win to stay in the top eight and ahead of the North Carolina Courage, who also won their final game of the season, in the race to the playoffs.

Haase scored in the 48th minute from an assist from Katie O’Kane. Bey finished the season on a 15-game winless streak.

The Kansas City Current finished the regular season at the top of the standings after dominating the league. They finished with 65 points, 21 points ahead of the Washington Spirit in second place.

The quarter-finals of the qualifiers will be held from November 7 to 9.
