Predators walkthrough: Scams targeting older Americans are on the rise, and federal officials warn that these tactics are becoming more difficult to detect.
Technological superiority: Power has always flowed from control of the world’s basic resources. Once it was steel, then oil, then data. Today, it is computing, and whoever controls it will shape the next century. Computing is rapidly becoming the basis of global economic growth. And in the US, investment in AI infrastructure, from data centers to semiconductors and power systems, is already getting things moving: JPMorgan estimates that spending on data centers alone could boost US GDP by as much as 20 basis points over the next two years. According to The Economist (October 2025), AI-related investments now account for 40% of America’s GDP growth over the past year, equivalent to the amount contributed by consumer spending growth. This statistic would be startling no matter how long AI has been part of the economy, but that’s just the beginning.

Fraud alert: Artificial intelligence can do a lot for us. Need to craft an email? AI has you covered. Are you looking for a better job? Artificial intelligence can help with this as well. It can also boost our health and fitness. Some tools, such as AI-powered exoskeletons, can lighten heavy loads and improve performance.

The silent killer: Artificial intelligence is making its mark on the future of cancer care. One of the latest applications of this technology is identifying hard-to-detect breast cancer.
Smart ways: Road crews may soon get a lot of help from artificial intelligence. Researchers at Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute have developed a fabric equipped with sensors and artificial intelligence algorithms that can monitor road conditions from beneath the surface. This smart material could make costly and damaging road repairs more efficient and sustainable.
