Orthodox Jewish leaders across Ocean County are uniting to endorse Ciattarelli

In a first in New Jersey politics, Orthodox Jewish leaders across Ocean County united behind Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli, forming one of the most influential religious voting coalitions in the state, according to a report.

Lakewood Scoop The endorsement — announced jointly by councils representing Lakewood, Jackson, Toms River, Howell and Manchester — represents an unprecedented show of unity from a community that has become a critical force in New Jersey politics, she said.

The longtime Vadd-Lakewood Community Council worked closely with its counterparts in neighboring towns to align this year’s approvals.

The effort reflects an intentional move toward broader collaboration across municipal lines, leaders told the Lakewood Scoop, stressing that this election season is about unity, turnout and shared priorities.

“Although the process took a little longer than usual, this time it was for an important reason — for the first time, we worked to ensure all cities were unified and on the same page,” organizers told the outlet. “The focus has been on Achdus – unity and cooperation – so that the voice of each community is represented in one powerful collective statement.”

“Every vote in every city is critical in this election,” they added. “Every district has its own local races and priorities, but together we share a greater responsibility – to get every vote out possible. This election will be determined by turnout. Let’s make sure our communities’ voices are heard loud and clear at the ballot box.”

The Lakewood Scoop also obtained letters from local communities affirming this unity, including a letter sent to Howell residents urging every eligible voter to participate in the election.

“Our voice is only as strong as the number of people who actually vote,” the letter read. “We highly recommend voting for the following individuals who have shown interest and friendship toward our community: Along with our friends in neighboring cities, Jack Ciattarelli for Governor.”

The letter also lists additional candidates for state and local offices.

Lakewood Vad issued an urgent appeal for unity and turnout throughout the Orthodox Jewish community, emphasizing that every vote matters as New Jersey enters a pivotal election season. The letter highlights the Vaad’s long-standing practice of consulting rabbinic leadership and community representatives to reach collective, values-based political decisions.

Leaders called the vote a civic duty and an expression of gratitude to officials who supported local priorities — especially funding for education, transportation and religious freedom.

After thanking President Donald Trump for his efforts on behalf of Israel and his fight against anti-Semitism, Vadd endorsed Ciattarelli for governor, citing his alignment with community concerns about education, infrastructure and taxes.

“Remember, your vote is your vote,” Fudd said. “Make it count for the continued strength and influence of our community.”

Ciattarelli aims to flip New Jersey from blue to red when he faces Democratic candidate Mikie Sherrill.
