Scott Dixon won his first victory for this season, as he ended the dominance of his teammate Alex Palo in the road cycles this year.
Palo appeared as if he was going to win in his seventh victory in the Indicar season, but he went out of his path in the 85th laptop of the 90-roll race on Sunday in the Mid-OOHIO SPORTS CORE. Dickson has passed, quickly by Palu, then stopped – while still needed to save fuel – to win.
It was a rare mistake for Palou during this season, as he still wins six of the first ten races. Its points extended to 113 points before Kyle Kirkud with seven races in the season.
“Just a stupid mistake, frankly,” Palu said. “A mistake on my part … no one blames me. It is a lot of hurt me.”
This was the first victory in more than a year for Dixon, who won six titles of a series and celebrated his victory 59. veteran Dickson now won in 23 different seasons and expanded a series of consecutive seasons by winning to 21.
“It was definitely a difficult race,” Dixon said. “Full credit for everyone in the Chip Ganassi race … was just a joy for driving.”
Palou is still second with the Chip Ganassi race driver to get the fourth series.
Christian Lundgard, who started in the front row next to Pole Sitter Palou, ranked third with Colton Herta IV and Pato Owward in fifth place.
