Senator Elizabeth Warren requires answers from Marco Rubio about the aid contract in Gaza Elizabeth Warren

Illizabeth Warren, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, faced reports that the Foreign Ministry is considering re -directing $ 500 million from the United States Agency for International Development to the controversial Gaza Human Foundation (GHF).

In a letter addressed to the Rubio official and the Acting Agency for the Acting Agency, Kenneth Jackson, a member of the Massachusetts, argued that GHF, a self -assisted self -supported assistant supported by Israeli and state governments, “represents a disturbing penalty for professional humanitarian organizations that worked on the ground, in gas, elsewhere, to contract contracts.”

“The questions surrounding GHF – sources of financing and contact with the Trump administration, their use of contractors from the private sector, and their ability to serve and considered it a neutral entity, must be answered by its founders, and its basic efficiency in providing assistance – before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs increases any funding for the organization,” Warren wrote in the letter, a copy that was provided in the direction of the document.

The letter asked Warren Answers by July 2 on whether the American Agency for International Development is considering granting any money to GHF, the conditions of a possible agreement and GHF relations with the Boston Consulting Group, which helped establish the group’s operations. BCG canceled its cooperation with GHF after the organization was involved in controversy after a series of shooting by Israeli forces in food distribution sites.

Reuters first stated that the funds directed to the US Agency for International Development, which are wrapped to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, can be redirected to GHF in an important batch to a troubled organization that opened food distribution centers in Gaza last month. GHF has struggled for a partnership with major aid organizations, so that Israeli and American officials have pressured NGOs to direct their humanity through GHF or not reach Gaza at all.

GHF major aid organizations, which forced some food distribution centers temporarily after their launch last month due to security concerns. The Israeli forces opened the shooting of crowds near the food distribution sites several times in the events of mass victims, Israeli officials said. Hundreds of Ghazan have been killed.

Jake Wood, former GHF CEO, resigned last month shortly before the start of operations. He said he could not guarantee the “independence” of political influence. Critics argued that GHF is a tool for Israeli and American governments to politicize and distribute humanitarian aid in ways that will separate from the Gaza sectors in a clear violation of international law.

The guardian approached the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to comment.
