Seven facts teams need to know the transportation market

Here, Galini shares seven facts about how the transfer window works.
No. 1: The players are not goods and there is nothing like “market price”
Many factors are included in determining the transportation fees: wages, the duration of the contract, age, and position, whether the club needs to obtain a player or have a need to cancel the download, what is the budget, and to what extent does it happen along the player in its development. Galeeni says there is in addition to the upward trend: a very sports player may be able to improve technically and therefore deserves investment. “Until the age of 23 years or so, some players can physically improve, become stronger, more effort and faster,” says Gallini. “Some maturity faster than others, you should know where they are on the path of development.”

Retegui scored seven goals for Genoa – not a large amount, but he was on a conservative side that he did not necessarily provide the type of service he needed. Galini says that inside Italy, Genoa generally does not use intermediaries, preferring to deal with the club to the club. But the game is universal, and the largest clubs only have contacts or scouts in every league or in every continent.
“We discover all over the world, but we will not know what each team needs or what the players may be available from every club,” he said. “Someone will call and suggest players who may be available. Or they will ask about our players on behalf of other clubs. We usually deal with brokers who know one or two of the championships well. In some of the markets we have achieved a lot of business, we do not necessarily need this. A lot depends on personal relationships: who trusts them in the right markets in the right markets.
“If I have, for example, a promising striker in the youth team who needs to loan to a football in the first team, I will not know from the top of my head what the clubs are, for example, the Austrian section or the second French section is looking for a striker. It will provide a mediator for this service.
No. 3: The managers necessarily tend to think in a short period while clubs must think about average and long. You have to find a way for these goals to align
There is also the fact that unless you are in a better club, it is unlikely that your manager will wander for a long time: if it is good, it will move to a larger club, and if it is bad, it will be dismissed. A club like Genoa aims to compete, but is necessarily looking to bring players who can develop it and later switch with a profit to help cover their operating expenses.
The manager must fit with this strategy, and the club confirms that it contains a profile of the type of manager he wants. It is not a coincidence, it is proud of the fact that Genoa finished sixth among clubs in the five major league championships in the first team preparations that it plays less than 18 years last season.
“We cannot find talent as the major clubs find it, or get firm stars,” he said. “What we do is that we provide players with an opportunity to grow and a window to showcase their growth. Of course, we complete the team with the older professionals who provide a good example, reflect our values and provide the cohesion we need.”

No. 5: Developing players and designing the correct paths for them is very important to the success of the club
Investing in the players – both academics and those you expect – and those who develop in your club will cost you less and you will end up to contribute to your first team or leave another club (and get transportation fees). It is a large part of the reason why Genoa is invested in a newly opened youth complex (Badia de Santandria) to help attract and keep younger players. It is not only related to the bullish trend, as it is about a plan for how to develop this upward trend.
“We had a very promising defender named Hone AHANOR last season,” he said. “He was with the first team in the pre -season, and training with them throughout the year while he was often playing for the youth team. He made most of his manifestations in the first team in the last month of the season, but he showed us enough to transfer him to Atalanta this summer for a fee that might rise to 20 million euros.
“Now, we could have left him on the side of the youth, or we could have pushed him to the first team immediately. But we believed that our plan allowed him to adapt to playing against the cultivated men – he was sixteen years old when he started – and gradually growing.”
“This is an internal example, but I can also cite Sebastian ota, a player we signed 20 years from Aab in Denmark in January,” Galini added. “He did not play one minute until April and only three games appeared in the first team. We have made him a period of adaptation, and we expect it to be ready to contribute this year.”
Finding the potential upward trend not only about young people. It is also related to the definition of players who fought elsewhere – whether due to injury or other reasons – and helping them restart their career. This also requires a path.

Gallini is certain about this. Genoa has more than 28,000 ticket holders in the season and the fans base is highly committed and requires commitment to its players.

“One of the best examples is one of our grooves, Johann Vazukez, who also fell in Mexico. He is a leader and warrior on the field, and he fits us completely from the moment he arrived.”
No. 7: You can search for players in traditional “foci” – the areas that have produced many successful players – but this means greater competition. You can also search for players in other markets, where fewer competitors are looking, but you have to have a balance properly
“We have found that the northern markets, especially the Danish and Norwegian, are suitable for our DNA,” says Galini. And of course, the more we work in those markets, the more we get to know them, and the more we get to know us. “
