Sources: Turner is from the United States of America to join Lyon in a move of $ 9 million

US goalkeeper Matt Turner It is scheduled to move to Lyon, with LIGUE 1 approval of a $ 9.1 million fee with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, a source of confirmation for ESPN.

Turner, 30, was in urgent need of a step after spending last season on loan with Crystal Palace, participating in only four games, in the cup competitions. He will join his international colleague Tanner Tesman In Leon.

It is not clear how Turner will suit Lyon, whose primary goalkeeper in 2024-25 was Brazilian Lucas Perry. Perry played 45 games in all competitions for Lyon this season.

This step should be satisfied with the American director, Mauricio Pochettino, who said three weeks ago that the goalkeeper with USMnt was “open” because Turner’s lack of play time, and that he would search for other options.

FC goalkeeper in New York City, Matt Friz, started on Saturday 2-1 to Türkiye.

“I think this is true [Turner is] Poittino said last month: “We are not playing, and we were talking to him and we are translating the idea that in the future, within one year, I think he needs to find a way to compete every week,” Poittino said last month.

Turner seems to have come out of anywhere in the ranks of professionals, as he started his career with the New England Revolution in 2016 after playing a group at the University of Fairfield. By 2018, he was the initial goalkeeper of The Revs, and he was appointed MLS goalkeeper for this year in 2021.

He moved to Arsenal in February 2022, but the lack of play time there he saw him securing a step to Nottingham Forest for the 2022-23 season. Turner started the campaign as the start of the start of Forest, but a series of shaky shows saw him losing his place in the squad.

The loan was secured to the palace in August 2024.

Park Ridge, New Jersey, appeared for his first time in 2021 and continued to appear 51 games with the United States, including four at the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

Givemesport was the first to inform the news. Terner’s agent, Dan Seagal, from Vaserman’s Media Group, refused to comment.
