Exclusive: A pro-Trump legal group has released a new way for parents across the country to push back against “woke” agendas in their children’s schools and highlighted a little-understood right parents can exercise to demand transparency.
“As the Supreme Court has repeatedly said, parents have ultimate authority over their children’s education,” America First Legal explained in a report press release Last week.
“However, schools often ignore the rights of parents. School systems, administrators, and teachers often treat parents with contempt and contempt for simply asking what their children are learning and what values schools are promoting.”
The press release continues to discuss the Pupil Rights Protection Amendment (risk assessment and evaluation)which she describes as an “important” but “so far underused tool” that can be used to “hold administrators and teachers accountable.”

The Pupil Rights Amendment regulates parental rights in federally funded surveys or educational materials.
America First Legal has released a new template on file Share on X To be used by parents to “radically disengage from classroom education and awaken school politics.”
The legal group explains that the letter enables parents to exercise their rights pursuant to the Supreme Court’s decision in Mahmood v. Taylor, where the court held that “the school district violated parents’ rights by failing to provide notice and opportunity to opt out before exposing children to extremist LGBTQ stories.”

The justices decided 6-3 on ideological grounds earlier this year in Mahmoud v. Taylor that parents can exclude their children from Maryland Public school system Lessons containing topics about homosexuality and transgenderism if they feel there is material conflict with their religious faith.
“The government burdens the religious practice of parents when it requires them to subject their children to education that poses a ‘very real threat of undermining’ the religious beliefs and practices that the parents wish to inculcate,” Justice Samuel Alito wrote for the majority. “The government cannot make the benefit of free public education conditional on parents accepting such instructions.”
The case stemmed from Montgomery County Public Schools incorporating books into its preschool through 12th grade language arts curriculum a few years ago that included “lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer characters,” attorneys for the school district told the Supreme Court.
The school district did so as part of its effort to be “culturally responsive” and teach lessons that encourage “equality, respect and civility,” the attorneys said.
the Maryland The school board provided books to elementary school students promoting “gender transitions, pride parades, and same-sex playground romances,” the parents who sued said in their petition to the Supreme Court.
“The Supreme Court scored a major win for parents this summer when it ruled that parents have a constitutional right to choose their children from extremist and transgender indoctrination at school,” Ian Pryor, chief legal counsel at America First Legal, exclusively told Fox News Digital.

“Now is the time to put this victory into action by taking positive steps to ensure that recalcitrant left-wing school districts comply with the law of the land. This opt-out letter not only serves as a means for parents to exercise their fundamental rights as set forth by the Supreme Court, but it puts those schools on notice that if they fail to comply, they will find themselves in court.”
Earlier this year, Fox News Digital reported American First Legal has created a website it calls the Parent and Student Action Center, which it describes as a “hub” for parents and students to gather information and share their stories.
“From sharing your story to accessing legal toolkits, open records requests, and real case examples, everything here is designed to provide parents and students with the knowledge and support to advocate for their rights,” the site says.
Parents across the country have in recent years been pushing back against diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in favor of merit-based policies and demonstrating that schools have been indoctrinated by far-left ideology.
Last month, dozens of parental rights organizations signed onto a letter sent to all 50 states calling for top-down audits of state education laws and policies, warning that DEI, poor hiring practices, and discrimination based on sex and gender remain prevalent in K-12 schools across the country, Fox News Digital first reported.
“Schools don’t raise children, parents do,” Gene Hamilton, America First’s chief legal officer, told Fox News Digital. “This source makes clear that schools are accountable to parents, not the other way around.” “The Constitution protects this relationship, and we will ensure that no bureaucracy or activist agenda can undermine it.”
