Taraji P. Henson signs a two-film deal with Netflix

Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Taraji P. Henson has signed a new two-film acting deal with Netflix. The partnership will see Henson appear in two upcoming Netflix films, continuing its successful collaboration with the streamer.

In addition to acting, Henson will also serve as a producer on each project under her production banner TPH Entertainment.

A strawwhich premiered in June 2025, was Henson’s first major role in a Netflix original. The film, which received praise from critics and fans, spent five weeks in the global top 10 (in English), achieving 106.3 million views.

“Partnering with Netflix on this two-picture deal represents an exciting new chapter for me,” Henson said. “I’ve always believed that storytelling has the power to inspire, heal and celebrate our shared humanity. And with a partner like Netflix, I have the opportunity to do just that on a global stage. I’m grateful for their trust in me as we embark on this new journey together.”
