The cast of “Everybody Loves Raymond” reunites for special photos
The cast of “Everybody Loves Raymond” returned to the Barone’s living room for a reunion special celebrating the CBS sitcom’s 30th anniversary.
Hosted by star Ray Romano and series creator Phil Rosenthal, the special airs November 24 on CBS at 8 p.m. and will also stream on Paramount+.
The anniversary special will include appearances by cast members Brad Garrett, Patricia Heaton, Monica Horan, Madeline Sweetin, Sullivan Sweetin and more. It will include a tribute to late cast members Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle, who played Ray’s parents Mary and Frank Barron.
“Everybody Loves Raymond” stars Romano and Garrett recently reunited on the Emmys stage, where they performed a bit of self-deprecation while presenting the award for best comedy series. “Being on the Emmys stage tonight feels a little different than it did back then,” Romano said. “I don’t think we were wearing compression stockings back then,” to which Garrett replied, “Or hearing aids.” Comparing his post-“Raymond” career to Romano’s, Garrett began throwing himself a pity party, saying, “Let’s be honest: I think the next time I’m at the Emmys it’s going to be a memory.”
“Everybody Loves Raymond” premiered on CBS in 1996 and ran for nine seasons until 2005. The comedy series, which followed the life of an Italian-American sportswriter who lives with his family on Long Island, won 15 Emmy Awards out of 69 nominations. The show was loosely connected to “The King of Queens”, with Romano appearing as Raymond Barone in four episodes of the Kevin James-led series.
