Tell the amber Newsweek“My health problems arose on us in 2024. I didn’t really want to take the photo; my self -confidence was a terrible self.

“But I thought it would be great to look back and see that life is not perfect – it shows exactly how our life went. After that, in 2025, I thought it was surprising that we got out of that situation, and here now. This was the purpose behind it.”

First signs

The amber was feeling bouncing two years before its diagnosis. Nausea, fatigue and heart were rejected by doctors as worried.

“When I go to the doctor, they said mainly that I am facing anxiety attacks. I am not an anxious person – the scalp is real, but I never tested it. I told them that I do not think that, but they said,” No, you are suffering from an anxious attack. “Then they said that the pressure of my blood was rising and blamed Kovid.”

The blood pressure medicine briefly extinguished its symptoms, but its health worsened during its upper year to study nursing at Indiana University. In 2023, shortly after starting her first nursing function, a mass was discovered on her neck while applying.

“I thought, this is not normal,” Amber said.

A colleague of the surgeon urged her to reserve ultrasound immediately. The mass turned to be larger than the golf ball. It follows a CT scan, which confirms the first Hodgkin lymphoma in only 22 years.

Amber said: “I was literally walking in the massage-from all things. I received the message, read it, and I sank.

Diagnosis and treatment

The biopsy of the second stage of lymphoma is confirmed by Hodgkin. Doctors recommended 12 rounds of chemotherapy every week. Before treatment, amber was also underwent to freeze eggs to maintain their fertility – a common step for cancer patients whose treatment could affect reproductive health.

Her treatment began on May 20, 2024 in oncology in Michiana in Michoka, Indiana, but immediately took a scary turn.

It was transferred to the hospital and placed on Nuba’s medications. During its chemotherapy, the complications of low white blood cells were delayed. The side effects included extreme fatigue, nausea, mouth sores, and hair loss.

Amber, which has always been wearing blond hair for a long time, cut 12 inches to prepare.

“I had long hair – it was part of my identity,” she said. “After my second treatment, I decided to shave my head because I was no longer able to lose it anymore. The continuous emotional rolling ship was. I thought,” Let’s turn the first aid. “

On June 14, surrounded by family and friends in the salon of my mother, Adam, the amber shaved her head.

Flexibility and renewal

The next day, she and Adam got married at a smaller intimate party.

Amber said: “It was sad – we had to cancel the great wedding that we planned for for two years. We married our erection in our local church. We only had our close family. It was beautiful.

“Our wedding ceremony was celebrated that we are one of being cancer -free. However, forgiveness does not mean that you have done this with treatment. I still have eight other treatments, which was brutally.”

Its insurance coverage caused almost delay, but just four minutes before the final decision -making chemotherapy session, she obtained approval to continue.

“I am a nurse myself. I always tell my patients that you should be your biggest defender. I felt as if I was sick, but I was also in the role of the nurse in an attempt to protect the patient – which is very sad.”
