The family has revealed Diane Keaton’s cause of death

Days after Diane Keaton died at the age of 79, her family have now revealed the cause.

In a statement to the peopleThe family of the Oscar-winning actress said she died of pneumonia.

“The Keaton family is extremely grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received in the past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11,” the statement read.

The Oscar winner’s death was also first reported by the peopleAlthough details were scant at the time; The family only revealed that she died in California.
