The judge finds the reason for the Trump administration contract for criminal contempt for deportations

WASHINGTON – A federal judge said on Wednesday that he had found a possible reason for the Trump administration to hold a criminal contempt for the deportations he sent to El Salvador.

The American boycott judge James Pasperg found that “the government’s actions on that day show a deliberate ignorance of its order, which is enough for the court to conclude a possible reason to find the government in criminal contempt.”

The judge wrote: “The court does not reach such a conclusion lightly or in a hurry; in fact, the defendants gave a great opportunity to correct or explain their actions. None of their responses were satisfactory.”

Boasberg commanded any planes in the air to be operated during an emergency hearing on Saturday, March 15th, shortly after the White House announced that President Donald Trump had signed an executive order calling for the law of foreign enemies – rarely used in wartime – to deport alleged members in the Venezuelan gang.

The prosecutor’s lawyer said in the case that their five customers were not members of the Tren de Aragu gang, and they were sent to a prison in El Salvador without any work.

He added, “If the defendants choose to purify their contempt, they must submit it by April 23, 2025, an advertisement that explains the steps they have taken and they will take it.”

The White House did not immediately comment on the ruling.
