The NBC Games, which is being hosted by Savannah Guth
WordLe, the digital puzzle game that causes addiction and which is presented by the New York Times daily, can be shown on TV soon.
NBC has requested a experimental program that relies on Wordle, according to people familiar with the project and were not allowed to publicly comment.
Savana Gotyre participates in hosting the “Today” program, and she is a player obsessed with the game, and works as a director of the TV version.
The test program will be used to determine whether the project, whose title has not been officially determined yet, will be requested for a series. A representative of NBC rejected the comment.

The Wordle project is produced by Electric Hot Dog hosted by Jimmy Fallon, which already has two games at peak times on the air on the network, “That’s My JAM” and “On Brand”. Fallon is also a NBC producer of the classic “Password” game, which was requested for a third season.
As millions of lovers of the game know, the daily Wordle newspaper requires players guessing a five -letter word in six opportunities through the process of deleting letters. The performance of the individual player in the game can be spread online without revealing the answer, as the colored squares appear without letters.
Wordle was created by Josh Wardel, software engineer residing in Brooklyn, New York, in 2021. After he achieved immediate success on the Internet, the New York Times bought it at a price and was reported to be in a low range of seven numbers.
Wordle was presented as part of subscribing to a set of puzzles on the New York Times app, and it was a major engine of the company’s digital revenue. The game was played 5.3 billion times in 2024.

The Times has explored the idea of the TV version for a period of time, and the company’s timing was lucky. Games shows have become an essential element on broadcasting networks like NBC in recent years, as viewers have increasingly made broadcasting platforms their first station for written comic and dramatic series.
Games are cheaper in production than written offers. It also admires traditional TV viewers who have appetite for programming that they can run and enjoy without the need to excessive viewing to follow the plot points.
