The task of searching and recovering in the Italian Alps
The park, an experienced mountain climber known as Nicolas Evaldo, has been missing since September 2024 on the northern slopes of Menofiso in the Cotton Alps in Italy. This distant section of the mountain is famous for the huge slopes and loose rocks. Sudden weather changes often make search efforts slow and dangerous.

The National Rescue Weapon in the Alpine and Rescue Mountains (CNSAS) specializes in the rescue of height and cave. They have performed multiple ground inspections since the disappearance. In early 2025, they turned into drone technology to renew this effort. Done -flying aircraft fly about 164 feet above the mountain. During the operation, they took more than 2,600 high -resolution images. This air perspective revealed details in the areas that were difficult and risky on foot.

How did the artificial intelligence technology join the research
Instead of relying on human experts to manually wipe thousands of photos, AI analyzed the entire data collection in just hours. Using color and shape identification, the most prominent system is the objects that do not match the surrounding environment.
One of the disclosure has emerged: the red helmet belonging to the lost wandering. This enabled the small discovery, but they could rescue the location and plan the recovery efforts. Once the site was confirmed, the teams moved to a very slope and unstable land to reach the area. They worked in challenging the alpine conditions to restore the roaming. Officials emphasized that this was a joint success between advanced technology and the skilled human team that explains the results of artificial intelligence.

The future of artificial intelligence in research and rescue
This process represents a turning point in search and rescue tactics. Done -to -purpose aircraft that supports artificial intelligence can cover vast and dangerous areas without risking a human life. They accelerate the search process and increase the chances of finding people alive.
Similar AI-with the help of AI in Canada, Switzerland and the United States have been used. These tasks often offer faster results than traditional methods. Rescue teams hope that with the progress of technology, they will reduce deadly accidents and determine the location of people faster. Human rescue men can be allowed to focus their efforts as they are needed.
