The suspect was arrested in shooting ABC Sacranto Station
Updated with arrest: Police said on Saturday that the suspect was arrested by allegedly shooting the KXTV (ABC10).
On Friday, the fire was launched, one day after a protest outside the station due to the network suspension Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Police said that Annhanandezantana, 64, from Sacramento, was arrested on charges of assaulting a fatal weapon, shooting at an occupied building, and neglecting a firearm. The shooting motivation is still under investigation.
The officers responded to reports of the shots that were launched at the TV station shortly from 1:30 pm on Friday. Anthony Gamble, a Sacramento police officer, said that at least three shots shot the building from a passing vehicle.
The police later managed to identify the car, prompting the officers to stay Sacramento and arrest the subsequent Hernandezantana.
ABC News photos showed three bullet holes in the building window window. The station said that the person was in the hallway at the time of the shooting, but he was not injured.
Hernandezantana was booked in the main prison of Sacramento Province.
In a statement of ABC News, the owner of the ABC10 Tegna Station said that she “is fully cooperated with the application of the law and takes additional measures to ensure the continued safety of our employees.”
The demonstration outside the building on Thursday was part of the widespread protests on ABC’s comment for Cemille after his comments about Charlie Kirk, including a Disney Studios in Borbank and another in Hollywood where Jimmy Kimmel Live! registered. The attendees in the Sacramento protest held the signs of reading “first amendment”, “resistance” and “you are the next” among others.
