The Texas House of Representatives approves arrest orders because of the absent Democrats
🎙 The sound was created. The contradictions may occur.
Republican Dustin Buroz, Speaker of the House of Representatives in Texas, said on Monday that he is ready to issue civil arrest orders for Democratic lawmakers who left Texas to try to prevent the Legislative Council led by Republicans from redrawing the Congress areas in the state.
“In response to this due jurisdiction, and according to the rules of the house, I am ready to admit a request to call the house and any other requests necessary to force the return of the absent members. If this movement prevails, I will immediately sign the orders of the civil competition for the members who said they will not be here.”
He continued, “Come back and died your duty, because this house will not sit quietly, while hindering the work of people. The people of Texas are watching it. Likewise, the nation.
Moments later, a proposal was passed in the Texas house to issue arrest orders for Democrats who fled the state. It was not immediately clear whether it could be applied or will be imposed outside the Texas border.
Texas’s house has now been postponed until Tuesday, August 5, at 1 pm
