The vaccine warning to England as one in five children begins school without protection Vaccines and immunization
Experts have warned that England needs to “wake up” the program of her infants vaccination, as it was revealed that one in five children begins in the primary school without protecting from serious infectious diseases.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the goal of absorbing vaccines between children in order to achieve herd immunity is 95 %. However, the numbers of 2024-25 issued by the UK Health Security Agency on Thursday show that there is no childhood vaccine.
Only 83.7 % of five-year-old children received both measles, mumps and measles vaccine (MMR), while absorbing the four-school vaccine-which protects from polio, residents, Zaamar, Al-Kasaz and the fixed-by 81.4 % between the fifty in England.
Low absorption rates have prompted concerns that children will be more likely to infectious diseases with the start of the elementary school in September. The government urged parents to make sure that their children are modern with their vaccinations.
In July, a child in Liverpool died after contracting with measles, the first death in the United Kingdom in a decade. Only 73 % of children in Liverpool received the bullets needed to protect against measles.
“The country faces a serious call to wake up, because if we continue this path, we will see many children well and we will see more deaths,” said Professor Helen Bedford, of the Children’s Health Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles.
“Measles, among these other diseases, incredibly infectious, and to maintain the disease in the Gulf, we really need much higher levels of absorption than we see at the present time.”
She added: “The other big problem [for vaccine uptake] Is there widespread inequality in absorption. We know that absorption is also less among some ethnic minority groups, especially the black Caribbean population and the African population. “
The data reveals stark regional inequality. While more than 90 % of children between the ages of five years in northeastern England received both MMR vaccine doses, seven out of 10 (69.6 %) qualified London residents have received the same. Meanwhile, the regional absorption of the four supporters ranged in one of 88.9 % in the northeast of the country to 63.8 % in London.
London’s mobile residents are an important reason for their low accommodation, according to Bea Taylor, an older colleague at Nuffield Trust. She said: “It is likely that parents and care providers in the capital will face barriers, including having to move to the home regularly, which may make it difficult to stay registered with a local doctor and receive reminders about vaccines,” she said.
“It is clear that there are still challenges to overcome it to address regional discrepancies in child vaccination rates.”
The UK is the worst G7 with the absorption of MMR vaccination, according to WHO: starting in 2024, only 89 % of children received the first MMR blow. Globally, millions of children are at risk of fatal diseases due to covering the vaccines that have stopped or reversed, according to the largest study of its kind.
“The decline in vaccine absorption is very concerned, as it is without the opposite of this trend and achieve more sufficient immunity to the increasing default, the growing measles spread we have seen in the case of its descending.
“A very large number of children begin at the primary school without full protection against preventive diseases that are likely to be dangerous such as measles, coughs and journalism,” said Stephen Kinock, Minister of Health.
“Vaccines save thousands of lives every year and prevent countless admission cases in hospitals. I urge all parents to check the vaccination record for their children and contact their normal practice if there are missing officers.”
