This announcement strikes the nerve because it is true
There is still a new advertisement from the Action Conbeldmare Fund still a lot of confrontation: convincing ice agents remove a young woman in the middle of history. “It looks like one of them,” says a member of the imaginary Congress, before announcing that it was sent to prison in El Salvador. Its history shouts after them: “I was born here. It is a citizen.”

The video, which was detonated on social media, is not hidden, but it should not be. It clicks in a very real climate where the migration position is judged in full view. Although some critics reject it as more afraid, the truth is difficult to ignore: American citizens are not wrongly detained by ICE.
This is not exaggeration. It has already happened – and more than once.
- In April, Juan Carlos Lopez Gomez, a 20 -year -old American in Georgia, was arrested in Florida. Despite the presentation of a birth certificate and multiple forms of identity, he was detained for several days because the local authorities put it in the ice that insisted that it was “a profile match.”
- In January, the Chicago community organizers claim that up to 22 people – some legal population, and others who are completely citizens – have made a mistake in ice raids at the workplace earlier this summer.
- In a famous condition now more than a decade, Da Veneo Watson, an American citizen from New York, has spent more than three years in detention of ice. The government later admitted that it had detained the wrong person.
These are not isolated accidents. They are symptoms of an enforcement system that increases priority to suspicion of the situation, and optics on legal procedures.
Action’s progress box video is not limited to fear. It is the fact that many Americans already live with him. ICE has been misinterpreted for American citizens, and social media continues to blur the separation line between the “unwanted” and “unwanted”.
What we see is not just enforcement – it is an escalation. Citizenship no longer guarantees protection when people believe that America has a look, sound, or skin color. In this climate, all that is required is uniform and a wrong assumption for someone to disappear, legally, or not.
If this does not frighten us more than a political declaration, then it must.
