Tim Lehgger replaces Doris Burke in the American Professional League team at ESPN

ESPN announced some changes on Thursday for the broadcasting teams in the American Professional League to the 2025-26 season, including among them, in promoting Tim Leger and extending the contract (but also a discount) of Doris Burke.

Legler will join the main NBA crew, which also includes playwright Mike Brain, analyst Richard Jefferson and correspondent Lisa Salt.

This team will connect to the American Professional League for 2026 on ABC, as well as conference finals, many first and second qualifying games, Christmas and NBA SATURDAY Primetime games on ABC.

Legler is a former American Professional League trip man who won the three-point shooting competition during the 1996 ALL-Star celebrations. He retired as a player in 2000 and joined Espn as an analyst in the same year.

ESPN did not provide details about the extension of Burke’s contract, unlike saying that it is for several years. According to a press statement, Burke will name “full lists of games throughout the normal season and the American Professional League qualifiers” on ESPN and ABC with playwright Dave Bash.

Burke has been with ESPN since 1991 and joined the NBA radio team in the network in 2023. When the 2024 finals were described in the American Professional League, she became the first woman to work as a TV game analyst in a tournament game in one of the four professional sports league championships.

In 2018, Burke was awarded the Naismith Hall of Fame’s Curt Gowdy Media Award for distinguished basketball contributions.

The news that Burke’s future with the American Professional League team was reported in the air was first reported by the athlete in June before the 2025 finals.

“I changed the game for women in broadcasting,” said Carliel. “Doris is a great example of courage and put herself there.”

Also on Thursday, ESPN announced a multi -year -old extension of Jefferson, who has been with the network since 2019 and called for his first finals in the American Professional League this year.
