How did this single record different from making Café Tacvba?
I have a specific experience of creation with the band – made by album, project, video clip, tour, scene – but these songs were evident that they came out of the floor to meet me. In my old house, the studio I made was surrounded by a huge forest. I really felt that I was another element of nature in that course of life that I had to live there. Something flourished at that moment for me. More than the result, the same experience for me was its own project, and it was so much that anything that comes from this is a result, an additional gift. The process was transformative, like nature itself, something that could not be controlled or tampered with.
I would like to describe songs as they arrive; This is completely different from creation with the intention of communicating with Moses. To your point of view on the movement, there are many of them here: Bachata, Cumbia, electronic music … a lot to dance on it.
All you describe was very organic. My father was music, and he devoted his life to music. At home, my mother, my father, and my siblings grew up and I hear a lot of music across species. When I started making songs, the species increased organically. If you go out like the ministry, norteña, blero, Disco or Punk, this is what it was. Based on some interviews I had, they did not ask this question, but the term “romantic” appeared. I also found myself – who was not at these times? To be aware and think about issues that occur all over the world, all the horrors of some situations and in some regions. I am also very attracted to the way I don’t understand much of what happens with these new generations and all music, all the art and creation that occurs. It seems that, as in other ages, attention was focused on the situations that were taking place around them, socially and politically, and there was a lot of talk about them and criticism was made. Today, it seems that this generation does not notice this, but I discovered in my theory that the speech is more powerful because it is not talked about directly, but it is talked about as “I will spend a fun time and enjoy it because this approaches this digital field …
I find it very strong and very sad at the same time. I mean, it is very sad to think that there is a generation that sees the world ending. This is my opinion – that there is little hope, and that everything is so complicated that it is better not to look at it. “Look only to what I have, because I am young and because I did not benefit from my youth to have a good time at the present time, I don’t know if I will reach the next stage. Or I don’t see how.”
