Todd Heinz says to us in a crisis under Trump

Todd Heinz described the United States as a state of crises at the press conference the jury in Berlinaly on Thursday when he was asked about his ideas about President Donald Trump’s first weeks in his position.
“We are in a specific crisis now in the United States, but also globally … Everyone I know in the United States … watching this barrage of procedures in the first three weeks of the Trump administration with tremendous and shocking anxiety, he said.
“I think this was part of the strategy to create a feeling of destruction and shock to people, so that it is still how to move forward in preparing various forms of resistance in business and is still discovered among Democrats.”
“I have no doubt that there will be many people who have received this vote for this president, who will be disappointed quickly because of his promises about economic stability in the United States.”
Heinz was speaking at the press conference the jury of the 75th version of the Berlin Film Festival, which is taking place this evening with the drama of Zeitgeist Tom Tayeuer a light.
The festival is revealed three weeks after the opening of President Trump, who witnessed that his administration reveals a series of political transformations on immigration, commercial tariffs, DEI programs and external aid.
In Germany, the country is preparing for the public elections on February 23, where the right -wing AFD anti -immigrant party is currently making the suggestion in second place, prompting street demonstrations on a large scale throughout the country.
In response to a question about what the current political climate in the United States means for directors, Heinz said it was the question that extends beyond the world of filmmaking.
He said: “How do you maintain your integrity and your point of view and speak to the issues around us as possible as possible strength and clarity.”
Heinz joined the jury by director Nabil Ayush (Morocco/France), fashion designer Benna Digil (Germany), admirers of Bengbing (China), director Rodrigo Moreno (Argentina), cinema critic, author Amy Nicholson (United States) and director, actor Screen writer Maria Sherrade (Germany).
Moreno, who watched the cinema, in his country, Argentina, under the right -wing government of Javier Millie, gave an anxious update about the situation there, but he agreed with Heinz as it was a wider issue.
“It is one year to have this government, this crazy man, a failure to utter every day, against gay, against scientists, against teachers, against directors and artists. Therefore, it is a nightmare for us.”
“This year, zero films have not been produced …. It is a tragedy for us, but we will continue to make movies anyway, with mobile phones, with anything, but the main problem is, workers, elderly, and poor, which increases every day .
