Trump plans the White House workplace to security for the year 2028 Los Angeles Olympics
Washington – President Trump will ask for a White House work team on Tuesday to security for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
Caroline Levitt, the White House press secretary, said that the president is planning to create a work team with executive order on Tuesday, telling times that Trump “considers it a great honor to oversee this global sporting scene.”
“During his first term, President Trump had a fundamental role in securing America’s attempt to host the Summer Olympics 2028 in Los Angeles,” Levitte said. “Sports is one of the greatest emotions of President Trump, and his sporting experience, as well as his unparalleled hospitality will make these Olympic events be the most exciting and unforgettable in history.”
It is unclear whether the executive order will provide relief as leaders in the city of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Organization for the Olympic Games and the disabled for the year 2028, a non -profit organization funded by the private sector known as La28, which plans to games, negotiates major issues including security costs.
The executive matter comes after Trump’s signing legislation, which the President referred to as the “Great Grand Law”, which received one billion dollars for security, planning and other costs of Los Angeles games.
Casey Vaserman, President and President of La28, thanked the Trump administration in a statement “for their leadership and fixed support and we are preparing to provide the largest and most Olympic games and the most ambitious handicapped in the United States.”
“Since we got this historic opportunity in 2017, President Trump has continued to have the size of our responsibility to welcome the world in Los Angeles,” Vaserman said. “The creation of this work group represents an important step forward in our efforts to plan and reflects our joint commitment to presenting greater only, but the greatest games that the world witnessed in the summer of 2028.”
Los Angeles leaders are heading in negotiations with La28 to use police in the city, traffic officers and other employees during the Olympic Games and the handicapped.
Security, garbage removal, traffic monitoring, paramedics, and more during the 17 -day Olympic Games and the disabled for two weeks will be needed the next month.
Under the 2021 Games Agreement between La28 and the city, La28 must compensate the city for any services that exceed what the city will provide on a normal day. By October 1, 2025, the two parties must agree on “improved services” – the additional city services needed for games, then the normal level – determining rates, payment schedules, audit rights and other operations.
The additional work for Los Angeles police officers, and any other major expenses, will be strongly felt by the city government that recently closed a budget deficit of approximately one billion dollars, partly by slowing the police employment.
Recently, the Trump bill guaranteed a billion dollars for security and planning for games, but it is not known what costs will be covered by those funds.
