Try to spot the subtle differences between CNN’s coverage of Obama’s renewals and Trump’s renewals – Twitchy

Presidents have never undertaken any major renovations to the White House during their time in office. Or at least that’s what the Democrats and some of their media would like everyone to believe.

Trump’s privately funded East Wing remodel that will culminate in a new White House ballroom is the latest ire of the day for TDS audiences and left-wing media. The White House’s X account said this after launching into all the Democrats’ recent controversies:

But of course this won’t stop the news cycle in leftist media until the next thing comes along that sparks outrage.

It appears that CNN has reworked the Covid-19 death counter and repurposed it into the White House demolition camera:

Federalist Molly Hemingway had a “compare and contrast” of sorts with a flashback to the White House renovation early in the Obama administration. This was CNN’s report at the time:

A lot of taxpayer money was spent 15 years ago on some White House renovations under Barack Obama, but we don’t remember any media hype about it. this:

After settling into a new home, who doesn’t want to take on a home improvement project?

Parts of the White House have become a bit rickety and outdated since the last repair five decades ago, so starting tomorrow, jackhammers and bulldozers will be put into action to begin a four-year, $376 million project to improve infrastructure in the East and West wings.

“This is the largest upgrade since the complete renovation of the Executive Mansion under Truman,” said Bob Peck, commissioner of public buildings for the General Services Administration, the agency that manages federal facilities.

Truman’s renovation of the Executive Mansion destroyed the heart of the White House. But we are now supposed to believe that what Trump is doing to the East Wing is some kind of unprecedented violation of sacred ground.

Another slight difference is that you and I paid for the Obama renovations while the Trump renovations are privately financed
