Warning democratic issues “civil war”

Actor Maxine Waters said on Thursday that President Donald Trump is working towards a civil war.

Democratic in California told reporters at a black gathering press conference in Congress in Virginia that Trump’s policies during the first two months in office were not random but purposeful.

“I am concerned that Trump is on the verge of a civil war,” Waters said. “I hinted more than once. I alluded to the fact that if it is not re -elected, there may be a civil war.”

Newsweek He arrived at the White House to comment via email on Friday morning.

Why do it matter

Waters has made a similar claim before, but her statements on Thursday are some of the most democratic in Congress since Trump returned to the White House. Democratic voters and commentators called for a stronger response than party representatives.

What do you know

Speaking with his colleagues in the Black House, water has addressed policies from the Trump administration, which she considered a problem, including definitions on Mexico and Canada, Government efficiency department in Elon Musk (Doug)And the release of federal workers.

Other members, including Vette Clark in New York, have spoken of the impact of Trump’s policies over the past two months. Clark said that Trump’s executive orders sparked the cost of living rather than lowering them as he promised, but Waterz took a stronger position.

“This president puts us in a situation where hunger will be on the street,” Waters told reporters. “Where the non -profit organizations, who were waiting for their checks, will not get that the elderly who are waiting for social security will not get it. Poor families with children will not get what they believe that the government has agreed to do it.”

California members said she believed the president expects confrontation and violence and expects a civil war. Watermers added that the Democrats will stand in front of this plan and are not provoked in violence.

She said: “He puts responsibility for us to live and do like Dr. Martin Luther King, we taught us to do.” “We learned to organize and protest, but we taught us the violence.”

During his 2024 campaign, Trump said that if he is not re -elected, there may be a “bloodbath”, which some people have taken means that violence will erupt if it is lost.

He was also seen as responsible for inciting violence in Capitol in the United States on January 6, 2021, after defeating Joe Biden.

He also called on the President to move forward as one country. In his opening speech, he ignited the “golden age” of the United States, depicting himself as a leader who can collect a divided nation together.

Clark was quick to say that Waters was talking about itself, not the wider Democratic Party.

The party, which has lost control of both Congress rooms in November, has struggled to find a coherent voice in recent months. Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer faced a violent reaction on Friday after helping the Republican Party spending bill to move forward.

What people say

The New York Representative Yvit Clark told reporters: “It is very clear that what Donald Trump is doing now violently affects the societies we represent. Whether it ends in a civil war that still must be seen.”

The leader of the minority Chuck Schumer said in the Senate Hall: “I think my job is to make the best option for the country to reduce the damage to the American people. So, I will vote to keep the government open and not close it.

“Trump has taken a bleeding to our country and practiced chaos like a weapon. For Donald Trump, the closure will be a gift. This will be the best distraction that he can ask for his terrible agenda.”

What happens after that

While Trump still sees support for many of his policies, he also faces a violent reaction to the actions taken in recent weeks. On Friday, thousands of warriors in Washington, DC, will protest the proposed discounts to social security, the losses of federal jobs for old warriors, and an amnesty of January 6 riots in health care services for old warriors.

Republican actors are still being abandoned by the city’s halls throughout the country.
