In the wake of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kerk, a discussion about political discourse and its impact on the recent political violence festival has risen to Capitol Hill and all over the country.
While both Republicans and Democrats condemned political violence of all kinds, their opinions differ according to the amount of inflammatory political eloquence that plays a role. Some Republicans accused the left speech of strengthening the “culture of assassination” on the left, while Republican Democrats accused the attacks on freedom of expression.
A member of the Congress, MP Alexandria Okasio Cortez, DN.Y, tried to convert to control of weapons instead of speech as a reason for an increase in political violence.
“This is not only about what happened to Charlie Kerk,” said Okasio Cortez.

“We need to be ashamed of these people from a polite society, and they are ashamed of existence. They need to be expelled from their functions. They are offering a life in danger,” said Mas said. “They deny that they celebrate political assassination and murder Charlie Kerk, but they are liars. They lie through their teeth.”
The lawmakers from both sides of the corridor called for “heat rejection” in the wake of Kirk’s assassination. Representative Richie Torres, DN.Y, said that everyone should have “the right to speak freely, otherwise the American democratic traditions can be threatened.
“See, there is an end to what Congress can do, because, as you know, we have the first amendment, which protects all forms of speech, including hate speech, but we must have a culture of condemning any discourse that glorifies violence. I see violence the fall of American democracy.” “We must all have the right to speak freely, think freely, without fear of harassment, intimidation or violence. Once we lose the ability to speak freely in the public square and then democracy as we know it is over.”

Representative Eric Sawalwell, extending California, suggested that Congress could take Congress to help reduce inflammatory discourse and its potential impact on violence.

“You have to look at the role that social media companies play in allowing violence to be in their positions.
