What was said at OKC Thunder practice on Thursday, October 16

the Oklahoma City Thunder Rehearsals were held on Thursday. They are in the final days of the preseason with the 2025-26 Opening Night less than a week away. They have one last exhibition remaining when they host Denver Nuggets On Friday, October 17th.

Thunder coach Mark Daigneault and Lou Dort spoke to the media after practice. Daigneault revealed whether OKC will use the final preseason game to rest players or use it as practice. Meanwhile, Dort spoke about Alex Caruso’s leadership.

Nikola Topic was also spotted in training. He continues to rehabilitate from testicular surgery that will keep him out for roughly the first 15 games of the 2025-26 regular season.

Lu Dort on Daigneault saying he’s in his best physical shape in 5 years: “Just knowing that we had a short break. I had to save some energy. I wasn’t able to put in a big effort on the field just because we played so many games last season.”

He said he changed his diet and his workouts in the weight room

Mark Daigneault on Brooks Barnheiser: “He plays hard, physical, competitive and has a good feel for the game. He’s not just a monster. He knows how to play and understands what we’re trying to do. He’s still learning a lot of things.”
