Where should Democrats go from here?
Sunday, MagaIt has traveled and good to Arizona to honor Charlie Kerk, the right -wing activist who was assassinated this month. It was a lot of kindness about this event – the huge turnout, the alternating observations of forgiveness and revenge, and the Christian atmosphere in general – but something said by Betty Higseth, the Fox host who turned to the Pentagon President, on stage, emerged for me. Higseth recalled the Kirk interview more than a decade ago, when Kirk was building his youth movement, Turning Point Usa. “I still have the poster:” The big government is absorbing, “said Higseth. But what Charlie understood and overwhelmed him in his movement, we also needed more of God. Charlie had major plans, but God had greater plans. “
There was a Christian again – but what my ears flared up was the declared breathing of the big government. In May, when I started writing rift lines in the absence of Jay Caspian Kang (who will return next week), I explore the first columns of the clear contradiction between the Trump administration, which heralds a somewhat classic vision for the small government, not the least of which is through the supposed work to abide by the new costs in the Ministry of Elon Musk in the government of Elon Musk, and expand the scope of power in a timely manner. In the end, I concluded that, in fact, this was not a great contradiction because the cuts often doubled as assurances of the leverage, or intimidation. Since then, the pretext of following up the limited government has become impossible to preserve it. Musk was crashed from the capital without going to spend. It is expected that President Donald Trump is expected to add about three trillion dollars to the federal deficit. The Ministry of Defense in Higseth (somewhat) was named after the Ministry of War, at least a reactive principle of just an aggressive (while calling for a wide new simulation to implement the supposed drug smugglers in the Caribbean Sea region). More importantly, Trump and his management provided their use of the state’s authority to continue independent institutions, critics and uncomfortable bureaucrats. After Kirk’s death, Trump explicitly announced the war on some of the radical left, mysteriously defined and threatened to punish the words that he considers hostile to his cause. Jimmy Kimmel-who was briefly removed from the air by Brendan Car, Chairman of the Federal Communications Committee, criticized the observations made by Kimmil about Kerk’s killing and glimpsed darkness to organizational consequences-one of the victims. (It is still presenting it to some of the network -affiliated companies.) There will be others.
These recent attacks on freedom of expression in general, and on Kimmel in particular, have been convicted even by some Trump’s allies, indicating that some are still believed that the “large government is absorbing”, at least in this context. (Ted Cruz generally likened Car’s behavior to the behavior of the head of mob.) In the past few months, I have written about inside-Maga Tensions, about questions related to the appropriate role of the state – on spending and strikes on Iran, for example – and more light lines, not the least of the ongoing controversy surrounding Jeffrey Epstein’s files. Such divisions not only illuminated the inexpensive ideological breadth of Maga The alliance, as well as the tense bonds linking Trump Dairades with podcasts and comedians – that were collected under the “Manusvir” ratio – to be seen as decisive to repeat Trump but they were never real believers. Some of the latter were very rejecting Iranian strikes, as they were written in June, and recently expressed concern about Kimmelgate, among other issues. This week, the Ministry of Internal Security recorded a video clip showing that Theo von celebrates the celebration of the deportation after Von said that it does not reflect the difference of his “ideas and heart.”
These differences may indicate, and these differences are a permanent problem MagaAt least once, Trump is no longer at the scene. In the Kirk memorial at the end of last week, a Maga “They believe that we commend Trump like our God,” rapper, my rapper, told my colleague Antonia Hitchens, but “Charlie showed me that there is more life than this movement.” At the present time, though, Trump continues to sit on both the Republican Party – simultaneously, as I wrote in the wake of Iranian strikes, as “the charismatic glue that carries a mixed movement together and enforces it angry” – and the federal government. His speech and behavior recently, which is concerned that critical media reports are “illegal”; Publicly calling for the accusation of the former director of the Federal Investigation Office, James Comey – raised more stakes of other questions that you have returned again and again this summer: What is the form of democratic resistance (or #Nesistance (or #Nesistance? Do you work? Apparently as another turning point, the ocean has become a double necessity for the Democratic Party more clear – Trump opposes one strong voice while starting to build a wide new church of its own. The party still does not do enough to any of the count.
In part of it, Trump’s resistance still feels retail, as it was written in the second rift lines column, because it should be gathered within the growing ecosystems system. As far as it comes to the Institutional Democratic Party, it is not surprising that it has failed to reconcile about a profitable message, not to mention the singular messengerShortly after the overwhelming defeat. Some prominent characters already expect a power to face Trump’s violations. I wrote in June about the governor of Illinois JB Pritzker to become a very strong voice to combat Trump, California Governor Gavin New Zerou (who initially sought to play Maga He whispered to his pods) after Trump sent the army to Los Angeles, and his observer in New York City Brad Lander is arrested while a migrant accompanying the Immigration Court. Since then, Pritzker has strongly opposed Trump to send forces to Chicago (he appears to have succeeded in preventing this result at the present time); Newsom leads the accusation of re -dividing the circles after Republicans in Texas charged the excessive maps on Trump’s orders; Lander was arrested again, last week, after a sit -in in the immigration detention zone, along with ten other elected democrats. (Perhaps a sign of the times caused by the arrest of Lander II barely rippped in the national discourse.)
But other Democratic leaders do not meet at this dangerous moment with the focus it requires, and if the party as a whole is still seen widely as unabated, this is not in a small part of myself. Hakim Jeffrez, the democratic leader of the House of Representatives, was asked on MSNBC this week if his predecessor Nancy Pelosi is sharing his move to the soles of the feet with Trump. Jeffrez described the presidential letter to put the party’s position in financing the government. Prolonged thinkers continued to align the Democrats to nullify their hands regarding the exact words that the party leaders should not use, as they wandered in the term “precise photography” while Washington burns. Many direct attempts to fight Trump coincided with it. Last month, we dealt with the miserable scene of newsom that tweets in all hats, such as Trump. Since then, legislators have imitated this tactic less convincing. After ABC Kimmel, Chuck Schumer, the leader of the Senate Figure, wrote, “Is Ebstin the real reason that Trump was canceled?!”
In fact, this post was a reflection of two separate failures, and the other is the insistence of many baffled Democrats that almost everything Trump does is distraction from the controversy of Epstein – perhaps the closest thing to this summer was his single narration through his narration, so that it actually came in her stories of Makzaz. This failure amazes me as a strategy; Yes, Epstein’s story of Trump has clung to unusual stability given the president’s tendency to ignore the negative press, but it seems closer to irritation than the deadly political wound. More importantly, it has failed in morals. There may be additional harmful information about Epstein and his partners who have not yet come out. But in the absence of many fresh materials-this controversy, remember that Trump officials promised to issue files themselves, then weaken, which angered Maga Al-Qaeda-Democrats joined up to up to the right-wing hunting of the right-wing witch, which led to a reduction in a real tragedy, and undermined the party’s status as defending the investigation based on evidence and due legal procedures. Ro khanna, a democratic pioneering supporter with the issuance of files, said in July that he trusts in the American people not to mark any innocent parties whose names appear in the guilt by the association – a confidence that I do not share, and that, at all moments, it may be already dangerous.
