Woman moves into a new house, discovers it comes with a ‘surprise’

The woman’s first home came with a pleasant surprise in the form of three cats.

Hannah May (@hannamae.rn) had just moved into her new home when she discovered some kittens in one of the alleys on her property. Sharing her discovery on social media, the post quickly gained attention, racking up 13,032 likes and 193,000 views.

“When you bought your first house and it was a surprise,” she wrote in her video.

“It was a good omen,” she captioned the clip, imitating “meowing” sounds to attract the kittens’ attention.

In the video, three kittens sit and look at her. However, it is not clear what steps she took next to care for the stray animals.

What to do if you find stray cats

If you encounter feral cats or kittens, experts recommend assessing the situation before intervening. According to Cat Protection, you should:

  • Notice from afar: Determine whether the kittens are truly strays or if their mother is close by. Mothers often leave the kittens temporarily to find food.
  • Providing shelter and food: If the cats appear abandoned or in danger, you can offer temporary shelter and food but avoid handling them excessively.
  • Contact local shelters or rescue groups: They can provide advice or help with rehoming or providing care for kittens.
  • Avoid separating them too early: If kittens are very young, they need their mother for nutrition and social development.

cat distribution system

Hannah’s experience is a delightful example of what is called “Cat Distribution System.”

This theory suggests that cats mysteriously appear in places where they are needed most, often adopting humans rather than the other way around.
