“Worse”: The majority of Americans believe that the economy is declining during the Trump era

There is no doubt about that president Donald TrumpThe chaotic tariff system has shook Wall Street. But a new survey indicates that bad feelings extend well outside the stock exchange, where the uncertainty is uncertain in Trump on the main street.

CBS/Yougov poll Joint earlier this week I found that the majority of Americans believe that the economy is declining in the early days of Trump 2.0. 53 % of the respondents told polls that they believe that the economy is getting worse in the shadow of Donald Trump, and the majority of Americans expected the economy to slow down or enter the recession next year.

56 % of the respondents said they refused Trump’s handling of the economy, up from 49 % in March. Nearly 60 % of those surveyed said they opposed new definitions on US imports. 65 % of Americans said they expect to make customs tariffs worse in the short term and 42 % expect duties to have a long -term negative effect. Compare this to only 8 % of the respondents who said that the definitions would improve the economy immediately and 34 % who thought they had a positive impact on giving time.

CNN Data analyst Harry Eindne called the results “the worst group of polling data that Donald Trump was in his second term as president.”

“The majority of Americans believe the economy is getting worse,” said Antin. “It is a leap from 11 points from November until now, and of course Donald Trump won the 2024 elections because he promised to reform the economy.”

The polls also showed that the consensus on who blames the faded economy may turn, while blames most of the current presidents for the first time.
